MJ Powell

The Founder and Co-Owner of ATU, MJ started riding at the age of six in North Dakota, and has been on a horse since!

She has competed and trained in 3 Day Eventing, Show Jumping, and most recently Classical Dressage in more than 4 states. Locally she spent time as a rider at Emerald Downs before opening All Tacked Up Riding Academy.

As Head Coach she enjoys teaching riders to be better by using a positive attitude as well as plenty of encouragement. She will push you to be better while also having lots of fun doing it.

As Head Trainer she excels at “reading” the horse to determine the best approach to getting the desired behavior or action. She has helped and trained horses in almost every discipline to be better or mesh better with their riders.

    Lindsey

    Co-Owner/Assistant Coach/Business Manager:

    After learning to ride as a child and teenager Lindsey took a hiatus when she got married and had kids. She is now back in the saddle and ready to ride! You’ll see her out at the barn, helping with lessons, programs and primarily running the business side of things. She keeps everything running smoothly. If you have any questions about lessons, scheduling, or the Tack Store, she is your girl!

  • Lani

    Assistant Coach/Assistant Trainer:

    Lani started riding at the age of 10 after being around horses from a young age. She started riding in the Hunter/Jumper’s which she competed in along with Barrel racing and pole bending. She has now found a love for Dressage and Show Jumping. Lani has a passion for inspiring young riders and teaching confidence and safety.

  • Gracie

    Assistant Coach/Assistant Trainer:

    Gracie is the daughter of head trainer MJ and was on her first horse at 3 months old. She has competed in Foxhunting, Hunter/Jumper and Show Jumping. She is currently schooling in Classical Dressage and training her 3rd competition horse. She has also trained several 2-year-olds in walk/trot/canter. You’ll see Gracie out on weekends and during the summer giving lessons and helping with the training program.

  • Kylea

    Assistant Trainer/Student Coach

    Kylea “Ky” started her riding journey at 9 years old in 4H miniature horses, and learned to train groundwork and liberty. She started riding in barrel racing and western pleasure and eventually switched to show jumping and dressage where she found her passions and has continued with it since. She taught her first horses how to jump and competed in dressage, eventing and hunter jumpers. She began teaching lessons and working with horses and riders. Kylea strives to encourage confidence and safety, and help riders and horses advance in their skills and abilities.
